Learn the soothing art of needle felting and make your very own saguaro cactus
Looking for a soothing activity or a new hobby? Want a houseplant without the hassle of actually keeping it alive? Felted cacti can survive in even the most inhospitable climates and look really cute on your desk.
In this two-hour class, you’ll learn the basics of how to create felted structures all while creating your very own needle-felted saguaro cactus. Needle felting is an easy and often relaxing way to create 3D sculptures out of wool.
Here's how it works:
This workshop is limited to 10 students.
This class will be taught virtually via Zoom. You will receive the Zoom info after you register.
We will mail students a kit with all the materials you need to participate, including a felting pad, needles, wool, and a terracotta pot.
If you already have the foam pad and needles from one of our workshops, you can opt to just receive just the wool.
You must register by January 22 to ensure your kit arrives in time.
Students will receive a link to an instructional video after the class.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the event family-friendly?
Yes! We've had kids as young as 8 in our felting classes. That said, this activity uses sharp needles so we recommend that kids are supervised at all times to avoid injury.
2. When will I receive my materials?
We ship all kits using USPS Priority Mail. They typically ship one week before the class and arrive within 1-3 business days. If you are located outside the DMV, we recommend registering ASAP so we can mail your materials earlier.
